By agreement of the Office of Fair Trading and Association of British Insurers and following a non fault accident your legal rights entitle you to have your vehicle repaired at a repairer of your own choice. You need only obtain one estimate for repairs and you are able to hire a replacement vehicle comparable to your own whilst your own vehicle is legally unroadworthy or during the period of repair. These costs can be reclaimed from the other drivers insurer and if applicable your no claims bonus remains intact and you may avoid having to pay a policy excess.
